Kids tend to let their
imaginations run wild, which is a good thing because this develops
their creativity. However, kids' imagination can come up against a
brick wall if they are placed in an environment that doesn’t allow
for it. In other words, kids usually hate it if they are left in a
dull-looking room. One way to liven up one such place is to paint a
beautiful wall mural on it, something which is costlier than
installing ordinary wallpaper but reaps greater rewards.
This is especially the
case if the mural depicts “positive” scenes such as nature,
parties, and carnivals. Pictures of fun and serenity improves
children’s moods and calms them down, which can be very beneficial
for those who have trouble sleeping at night. These scenes can also
improve children’s dispositions towards themselves and other
people. Perhaps most importantly, especially made wall murals will
remind them that they are loved by their parents.
However, since what can
be considered as “positive” scenes is pretty subjective, parents
who have wall murals in mind for their kids' rooms should ask their
kids about their decoration preferences. Boys typically love anything
related to space, cowboys, and comic book superheroes, while girls
prefer princesses, castles, and fairy tale characters.
